Dog Soldiers was originally founded in December 2002, initially to play Enemy Territory which was expected the following Spring. However, as the original members were experienced competitive RtCW players, we had itchy trigger fingers and decided to start playing RtCW matches whilst we waited! The clan competed in the Clanbase 6v6 Stopwatch ladder and was signed up for the last Jolt RtCW league, as well as taking part in a number of friendly matches against other clans.

The objective of the orginal clan was simple - to have fun whilst trying whilst being as competitive as possible. Whilst we never pretended to be "pro-gamers", we took our competitive gaming seriously and played to win. Every single member was committed to this and sure enough, as the clan got to know each other well, we began to win matches.

As a clan, we disbanded at the end of 2003. Most members went on to play Enemy Territory and later, Quake Wars. Others started to play the newly released Battlefield 1942. Many of the original members are still in touch with each other although some no longer play online games. The clan lay dormant for several years until it was resurrected in January 2011 in preparation for the release of the latest Splash Damage game, Brink.

Dog Soldiers now comprises of ex-RtCW players and Day of Defeat players, all of whom continue to share the original desire - to win at everything we do, whilst still having a good time. We want to try and recreate the feeling - a feeling that was common 10 years ago - that any clan can be competitive and successful if all members are committed to teamwork rather than personal glory. Our objective is to build a core membership of true team-players although our intention is to stay small in numbers, as with the original clan.

Dog Soldiers runs it's own quad-core dedicated server which runs multiple game servers as well as our own Teamspeak 3 server.
